It’s April 20th, meaning thousands of people will be flocking to downtown Denver to celebrate marijuana, many to attend the annual festival in Civic Center Park.
This year Euflora, the dispensary chain organizing the FlyHi 4:20 Festival, is calling it a “celebration of cannabis,” an ode to the transformation weed has made in Colorado since recreational pot sales became legal in 2014. In the past, 4/20 was used for supporters to advocate for legalizing marijuana.
While the festival is a celebration of consuming marijuana, attendees are encouraged by Euflora and the Marijuana Industry Group to keep their pot at home — it’s illegal to consume weed in public.
Ahead of the 420 festival, organizers said they expected as many as 75,000 people to show up at the event, which is was headlined by T.I.
This is a developing story and will be updated throughout the day.
